01Booking & Class Cancellations

All classes are booked through Mindbody (our website or the Mindbody app). Spots are limited, so book ahead.

We'll consider exceptions for documented emergencies, but we can't guarantee them.

If we cancel

We sometimes change schedules, cancel classes or swap instructors. If we cancel a class you booked, you'll get the class credited back.

02Arrival & Warm-Up

The warm-up isn't optional. It's what keeps your shoulders, wrists and hamstrings happy.

  • Arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in, change and get settled.
  • Do the full warm-up with the class. Please don't skip or shorten it.
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your instructor may not let you join for safety reasons. Late arrivals who can't join don't get a credit or refund.

03Class Packs & Memberships

See our Pricing page for current rates. Here's how each option works:

OptionGood to know
Drop-inPaid when you book. Never expires.
5-Class PackExpires 3 months from purchase.
10-Class PackExpires 6 months from purchase.
Monthly membershipsAuto-renew on the same date each month. Unused classes don't roll over.
  • Packs and memberships are just for you. They can't be shared, gifted, sold or transferred.
  • Watch your expiration date. We'll try to remind you, but unused classes are forfeited once a pack expires.
  • Practice time (on memberships that include it) is only available during scheduled practice sessions, and space can be limited at peak times.
  • Keep your card current. Memberships are charged to your card on file on your renewal date. Failed payments may pause or end your membership.
  • Price changes: current members get at least 30 days' written notice before a price change affects them. Changes never apply to packs you've already bought.

04Refunds & Cancelling a Membership

5-business-day cooling-off window

Changed your mind? Cancel a pack or membership in writing within 5 business days of purchase (Mon–Fri, excluding federal holidays):

  • Haven't attended any classes yet: full refund.
  • Attended a class or two: refund minus the $40 drop-in rate for each class you took.

Refunds are processed within 14 business days.

After that, all sales are final

Once the 5-day window closes, packs and memberships aren't refundable for any reason: schedule changes, moving, injury, finances and so on. Unused classes and practice time have no cash value.

Out for 30+ days with a medical issue? Email us with a note from your healthcare provider. We review these case by case and may offer a credit, extension or partial refund.

Cancelling a membership

  • We need 30 days' written notice. The clock starts the day we receive it.
  • You'll still be billed for any payments due during those 30 days, and you can keep coming to class until it ends.
  • If you just stop coming, your membership keeps renewing. You have to cancel it.

How to give written notice

  • Email info@rocknpolestudio.com with the subject line "Cancellation Notice." Include your full name, the date and what you're cancelling.
  • Text (323) 546-3059 with "Cancellation Notice," your full name, the date and what you're cancelling.
  • Mindbody: if you cancel there, please also send a confirmation email or text so nothing slips through.

We can't accept cancellations in person or by phone call. Notices that arrive after hours, on weekends or on holidays count as received the next business day. Keep your confirmation email or text for your records.

05What to Wear

Pole needs skin to grip, so shorts and sports bras or crop tops are your best friends. Leggings work for most aerial, stretch and barre classes. Wear anything form-fitting that lets you move.

No lotion on skin

Skip the lotion, oil, sunscreen and body butter on class days, ideally from the morning on. Pole grip comes from bare, dry skin, and even a little moisturizer turns the pole slippery for you and everyone who uses it after you. That's how people slide out of inverts and spins. If your skin runs dry, moisturize the night before so it has time to absorb.

Heels: 7 or 8" pole dance heels

We love heels. They're a big part of our style: heel clacks, floor slides, glides and all the drama that comes with them. They're fun, they're sexy and they make every move hit harder. Wear 7 or 8" pole dance heels. Never worn heels before? Start in bare feet and work up to them.

Aerial chains & apparatus

Remove jewelry, tie back long hair and wear what your instructor recommends. Chains are rigid metal and will pinch skin, hair and fabric.

06Photos & Video

Lots of our students keep their pole life private. Please respect that.

  • Never photograph or record another student without their written consent, and never post them online.
  • Filming yourself is fine if you ask your instructor first and nobody else is visible or identifiable in the shot.

When we take photos

The studio sometimes photographs or films classes and events for our website, social media and marketing. Don't want to be featured? Email info@rocknpolestudio.com with the subject "Photo/Video Release Opt-Out", and we won't use your image in marketing. In group shots we'll do our best to keep you out of frame, and it helps if you step out of shot too.

07Health & Safety

  • Talk to your instructor before class about any injury, medical condition, pregnancy or limitation, even small ones.
  • Check with your doctor before starting a new fitness program, especially if you have a health condition. Our instructors are movement pros, not medical professionals.
  • Listen to your body. Stop and tell your instructor right away if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pain or nausea.
  • Stay home if you're sick, feverish or contagious, and let us know if you've been exposed to or diagnosed with something contagious.
  • Come clean: fresh clothes and deodorant, please. Wipe down equipment when asked.
  • No alcohol or drugs. Don't come to class impaired, and don't bring substances onto the premises.
  • Spot a hazard? Tell staff about damaged equipment or unsafe conditions immediately.

We may add health and safety measures from time to time, and we ask everyone to follow them.

08Studio Culture & Conduct

Rock N Pole is proudly sex-positive. Expect open, frank conversations about bodies, sensuality, confidence and empowerment, plus some adult language. If that isn't your vibe, we might not be the right studio for you, and that's totally okay.

Sex-positive means attitudes and conversation. It doesn't mean nudity or sexual activity, and it never means anything goes. We expect:

  • Consent first: no physical contact without it.
  • Respect for boundaries: anyone can opt out of a conversation or activity that makes them uncomfortable.
  • Zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination or unwelcome advances.
  • Kindness to instructors, staff and fellow students, and following instructor directions.
  • Leaving it better than you found it: put equipment back and clean up after yourself.

We may remove anyone who's disruptive, threatening or disrespectful. That can include ending their membership without a refund.

09Age Policy

Our regular classes and events are for adults 18 and over, and we may ask for a photo ID to verify age.

Students under 18 may join our designated age-appropriate youth classes only, with a signed parent or guardian consent and waiver. Contact us for details.

10Your Belongings

Keep your things in the cubbies or lockers, not in the middle of the floor, and leave valuables at home when you can. We don't provide security for personal items and can't be responsible for anything lost, stolen or damaged.

11Your Waiver

Everyone signs our Participant Waiver & Studio Policies Agreement in Mindbody before their first class. You sign it once, and it covers all your future classes, workshops, practice sessions and events, even if you take a break and come back.

This page is a friendly summary. The signed agreement is the official version, and if the two ever differ, the agreement wins. You can download a copy from Mindbody anytime or ask us for a paper copy at no charge.

We may update these policies from time to time. Members get 30 days' notice of any significant change.
